Basic First Aid

This course will help you develop basic first aid knowledge to help prepare you to deal with a medical emergency. Topics include:

•             Role of the first aid provider
•             Protecting yourself
•             Compression-only CPR
•             Choking
•             Control of bleeding
•             Shock
•             Head, neck, and back injuries
•             Nosebleed
•             Burns
•             Stroke
•             Seizure
•             Breathing difficulty
•             Poisoning
•             Heat and cold emergencies

This course conforms to the 2015 AHA and ARC Guidelines Update for First Aid.

By successfully completing this online class, students will receive a Certificate of Online Training. If a certification card is needed, student must successfully complete a hands-on skill session with a currently authorized ASHI or MEDIC First Aid Instructor.
